The buildings sector, including especially heating and energy efficiency technologies, is one of the main areas of intervention to realize EU plans to reduce dependence on fossil fuels from Russia. The “REPowerEU” package of measures presented by the European Commission in May this year, together with the “Fit for 55” 2021 legislative package currently being negotiated, are intended to help decarbonize the buildings sector while increasing the energy security of EU countries.
The debate, attended by representatives of the European Commission, the Ministry of Development and Technology and the POBE Energy Efficiency Industry Alliance, addressed the financing of the transformation of buildings in Poland with funds from the National Reconstruction Plan (NRP), indicated what opportunities and threats exist for building users and the industry, as well as how other European Union countries are approaching the acceleration of the energy transition as a result of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
A transcript of the seminar is available on the POBE website.
